You know, I live in Kentucky, the home of the American Quilter’s Society, and yet I’ve never gone to Paducah, the organization’s home. Each year in April, they stage a quilt show in Paducah that — I’ve been told — is magical. But I’ve never gone to the show.

The organization offers many benefits to members, but I have never joined.

I won’t make this year’s Paducah show. It happens in a week, and I haven’t planned. But perhaps I will join, and perhaps I will attend the August expo in Nashville.  This has been a year of firsts for me, and I owe it to myself to learn more about quilts, about fabric art, and about me.
