Who says size doesn’t matter?

Mixed Media Monday‘s challenge for this week was to make a “trinchie” — a 3-inch by 3-inch piece. Geez-Louise! Working small is much harder than I expected. What can I say? I’m not a delicate person. I don’t glide into a room. I burst in. I don’t sip drinks. I guzzle. I don’t have the fine motor skills necessary to do things that are not in broad strokes.

Thank heavens for Photoshop.

Using Photoshop and Wordle, I was able to create a word cloud about New Orleans and shrink it to the size requirements. Then I washed greens and purples over the text, added a gold fleur de lis, and a couple brass pieces in keeping with the city’s images.

So here it is. My homage to the Big Easy. I pray she returns to her former grace (with a little less disparity between black and white, rich and poor.)
