Mixed Media Monday‘s theme for this week is “Re-use, Recycle.” I was lucky, because I had found three nice pieces of plywood that had been used as signs and had been relegated to the dumpster. So I had a solid foundation. After playing with my oranges, reds, yellows, etc., I had a fall background. Next to my fabric stash. I had purchased a great shibori fat quarter to use in a quilt I’m working on, and the scraps were toned in colors that looked like bark. Perfect! On to a book my husband had rescued from the trash. I cut out some leaves from the pages, tinted them red and added them to my plywood. Finally, a little more paint, and there you have it: Fall Dance.
